3D Animation Services for Launches, Sales and Training

3D animation is a film made entirely from 3D models, so it can show what a camera cannot: a product before samples exist, the inside of a working machine, a building before construction. As a 3D animation studio, we produce it for brands, manufacturers, developers and agencies from CAD, drawings or a sketch.

Types of 3D animation we produce for brands, manufacturers and developers

3D animation services cover every film made from 3D models instead of a camera, from a short product loop to a training film for a production line. More than 40% of our orders are animation and 3D tours rather than still images, so each type below has its own specialists and, where linked, its own page.

  • 3D product animation

Launch films, 360° spins, feature close-ups and unboxing for consumer products, electronics and packaging. More on our 3D product animation page.
  • Mechanical and technical animation

Machines, mechanisms and production lines animated from your CAD: what moves inside, in what order and why it works, for sales engineers and trade-show screens.
  • How-it-works, assembly and installation animation

Exploded views and step-by-step assembly and installation sequences that replace a printed manual. See the wall system exploded view project.
  • Architectural animation and walkthroughs

Flythroughs, walkthroughs and construction sequences for developers selling off-plan and architects presenting a scheme. See architectural animation.
  • Medical and scientific animation

Surgical procedures, medical devices and mechanisms of action, built from your CAD and references and reviewed by your experts. See medical animation.
  • CGI ads and FOOH films

Animated commercials and fake out-of-home clips for social media, where the product does what a real shoot cannot. See CGI advertising.
  • 3D motion graphics

Logo reveals, product titles, kinetic type and abstract 3D loops for ads, events, websites and social media, rendered from the same models as the main film.
  • AI video production

Brand films and ad variations made with generative AI and finished by our 3D artists, when the deadline or budget does not fit a full CGI film. See AI video production.
  • 3D explainer videos

Explainer videos in 3D for hardware, tech and B2B products that are hard to show: the hidden parts, the data and the benefit, usually in 60 to 90 seconds.

Not sure which type of 3D animation your project needs?

The type follows the audience and the channel. An investor, a shopper on a product page and an engineer at a trade show need different films about the same product. Tell us who will watch and where, and we come back with a shot list and the hours it takes.

Cover of the guide on choosing and pricing a product animation

Free guide: fifteen seconds of film is 360 frames, and we priced every one

The brands in the row above rarely ask for three films. They ask for one hero spot, name two channels and let the storyboard do the rest. A launch brief taken literally came to $20,850 of product animation; the launch it described needed $7,500. The guide prices explainer, hero spot and loop side by side, with the cutdowns each channel really needs.

Who orders 3D animation

Who orders 3D animation and what each team uses it for

Most of our animation clients are not studios but the companies behind the product: manufacturers, startups, developers and brands. Each needs a different film from the same 3D model, so we plan the shots, the level of technical detail and the cut lengths around the audience.

  • CGI of an athlete holding out a black LARQ bottle towards the camera

    Consumer product brands

Need a launch film before mass production and product-page videos that sell without a photo shoot. We animate the product from CAD and reuse the model in every channel.

Get the playbook for this role
  • CGI of a black smart-bed hub standing on the edge of a bed

    Hardware startups and crowdfunding teams

Need investors and backers to see a product that is still a prototype. We make the pitch film and the campaign video from CAD files or early sketches.

Get the playbook for this role
  • CGI of a forestry truck with log bunks parked on a forest road

    Manufacturers and industrial companies

Need machines and processes explained to buyers, distributors and new staff. We animate what happens inside, for sales meetings, trade shows and training.

Get the playbook for this role
  • Render of two mid-rise apartment buildings with deep balconies along a tree-lined street

    Real estate developers

Need buyers to commit before construction. We produce flythroughs and walkthroughs for off-plan sales, project websites and sales galleries.

Get the playbook for this role
  • CGI close-up of an engraved dental instrument handle on black

    Medtech and pharma teams

Need a device or a mechanism of action explained in seconds. We animate the science your experts approve, without adding claims of our own.

Get the playbook for this role
  • CGI of red and white spheres bursting out of a building billboard above a city plaza

    Marketing and creative agencies

Need a 3D team behind a client campaign. We work white-label, to your storyboard, brand rules and review schedule.

Get the playbook for this role

Pick your side of the film. Get the playbook written for it.

A product brand, a manufacturer and a developer order 3D animation for different reasons, and each overpays in a different place. Choose yours: the shots that move your audience, what to prepare before the brief, and the mistakes we see most from your side.

Common 3D animation problems

3D Animation Challenges We Solve

  • 01 Happened to us

    CGI that looks cheap

Plastic materials, flat light and floaty motion make a premium product look like a toy, and viewers skip the film in seconds.

Our fixWe light and texture every shot like a product photograph and animate with real weight and timing, then check frames at full resolution.

  • 02 Happened to us

A product that does not match the real one

Models rebuilt from photos change proportions, buttons and joints, and the first engineer who watches spots it.

Our fixWe build from your CAD or engineering drawings and check close-ups against the real part.

  • 03 Happened to us

    One film for every audience

A single cut tries to serve investors, buyers and technicians and ends up too technical for some and too vague for others.

Our fixOne message per shot, and separate cuts for each audience and channel from the same 3D model.

  • 04 Happened to us

    Changes after rendering

Feedback arrives after the expensive frames are rendered, and every edit costs days and moves the launch date.

Our fixYou approve the script, storyboard, styleframes and animatic before final rendering, while changes are still cheap.

  • 05 Happened to us

    A freelancer who disappears mid-project

One animator holds the files and the schedule; when they take on other work, your film stops.

Our fixA team with a project manager and shared project files, so the film never depends on one person.

3D animation for every stage of a product launch

A good 3D model gets used many times. The scene that wins over an investor later becomes the launch film, the product-page loop, the trade-show screen and the training video, so each new film starts from work already done.

Tell us the uses up front and we build the model once, at the detail the closest shot needs.

Technical animation

Technical and engineering animation from your CAD files

Mechanical animation

Gears, valves, pumps, motors and linkages shown in motion with the housing cut away, so a buyer sees the mechanism instead of reading about it. Built directly from STEP or native CAD exports.

Engineering and process animation

A process explained from start to finish: material entering a machine, flow through a system, a production line or a plant, with labels and data where your engineers need them.

Industrial machinery animation

Heavy equipment, robotic cells and production lines animated for sales and trade shows, without shipping a machine. More on our 3D rendering for manufacturers page.

Training and safety animation

Operating, maintenance and safety procedures shown step by step, the same way every time, for onboarding, e-learning and service teams.

Exploded view animation

Parts separating and rejoining in order, to explain what is inside, how it goes together or why your design needs fewer parts than the alternatives.

Why Choose Us

A 3D Animation Studio, Not a Single Animator

We have produced CGI for brands, manufacturers and developers since 2016, and animation is a core part of the studio rather than an add-on: modelers, animators and compositors work as one team, from the first storyboard to the last cutdown.

  • 01

    350+ clients since 2016

Brands, manufacturers, startups and developers, served from our studio in London.

  • 02

40%+ of our work is motion

More than 40% of our orders are animation and 3D tours, so motion is daily work here, not an occasional extra.

  • 03

    Built from your CAD

Products and machines are modeled from engineering files, not redrawn from photos, so close-ups hold up to an engineer’s review.

  • 04

    One model, every film

The same 3D scene serves the launch film, the explainer, the training cut and the stills, so later films cost less.

  • 05

    Dedicated project manager

One person knows your product, your reviewers and your deadline, so nothing has to be explained twice.

  • 06

    Confidential by default

Unreleased products stay under NDA and are shared only with the artists working on your shots.

Got it — thank you. Expect an answer in your inbox within one business day.
What are 3D animation services?

3D animation services are the production of films made from 3D models: product launch films, technical and how-it-works animation, architectural walkthroughs, medical animation, CGI ads and 3D motion graphics. A 3D animation studio or agency handles the script, storyboard, modeling, animation, rendering and edit, and delivers masters and cutdowns for each channel.

What does a 3D animation company do that a freelance animator does not?

A 3D animation company runs the whole film with a team: storyboard, modeling, animation, lighting, rendering and edit, under one project manager. A freelance 3D animator usually covers one or two of those steps. If you outsource 3D animation with a launch date or several versions to deliver, a studio carries less risk because the work never depends on one person.

Should we choose 2D or 3D animation?

Choose 3D animation when the viewer needs to see a real object: its shape, its materials, the inside of a mechanism or a building in space. 2D animation suits abstract ideas, diagrams and software screens. Many explainers combine both, with the product in 3D and the data, labels and icons in 2D.

Can you animate our product from CAD files?

Yes. We work from STEP and other CAD exports, prepare the geometry for rendering and add materials matched to your product. If you only have sketches or photos, our 3D product modeling team builds the model first, and the same model is then used for the animation.

We do not have a final design yet. Can you still make an animation?

Yes. In about half of our projects the client has no finished design, and we develop the concept from sketches, references or a written idea before we animate it. For a pitch film or a crowdfunding campaign, a concept that looks real is often exactly what is needed at that stage.

Can you make a 3D explainer video for our product?

Yes. A 3D explainer video shows a hardware, tech or B2B product working, including the hidden parts and the benefit, usually in 60 to 90 seconds. We shape the script with you, animate the product from CAD and add on-screen text and voice-over. Screen-recorded software demos are better made by a SaaS video agency.

Do you create 3D motion graphics?

Yes. We produce 3D motion graphics such as logo reveals, product titles, kinetic type and abstract loops for ads, events, websites and social media. Because they are rendered from the same models as your product film, the brand looks the same in every format and every cut.

Can we use a 3D animation to raise money or presell a product?

Yes. Pitch films for investors and crowdfunding videos are common first projects, because they show a product working before tooling is paid for. The film should show the product you can actually build, and any claims on screen should be ones your team can support.

AI video or 3D animation: which one do we need?

Use 3D animation when the product must be exact, with its shape, mechanism and branding matching the real object in every frame. Use AI video for mood, people and settings at speed. Many projects combine the two; see AI video production and our comparison of CGI and AI.

What affects the cost of a 3D animation?

Cost depends on the runtime, the number of shots, how much has to be modeled, whether CAD files exist, the level of realism and the number of versions and review rounds. We quote every project for its exact scope. Typical market ranges are explained in our 3D rendering pricing guide.

How does a 3D animation project work?

A project runs through brief, script and storyboard, styleframes, animation shared as an animatic, final rendering and an edit with sound and on-screen text. You approve each step before the next one starts, so changes happen while they are cheap, and most of the calendar goes into the steps before final rendering.

What formats do you deliver?

A master film in 16:9 plus the versions the project needs: 9:16 and 1:1 cutdowns for social media, loops for websites and trade-show screens, a version without on-screen text for translation, and high-resolution stills rendered from the same scenes.
