Cosmetic Product Rendering and Beauty CGI Instead of a Product Photoshoot

Cosmetic product rendering is photorealistic 3D imagery of skincare, makeup, fragrance and beauty devices, made from packaging files instead of a photoshoot, often before the first sample exists. We create store and Amazon images, ad and social media visuals, launch films and retail pop-ups for beauty brands, their agencies and retailers.

Beauty CGI we produce instead of cosmetic product photography

Beauty CGI covers every image a launch has to show, from store and Amazon listings to ads, social media content and retail displays. In our studio one accurate model of each pack feeds all of them, made by our 3D product rendering team. No final pack design yet? We develop pack and label concepts in 3D first.

  • Render of three skincare jars with open silver lids arranged on pale grey stone plinths

Product images for your store and Amazon

Packshots on white, open-jar and lid-off views, size lineups, A+ content and 360° spins for your store, Amazon and retailer feeds, all from one model of each pack.
  • Render of a white skincare tube standing in a split block of travertine under warm light

    Textures, swatches and set design

Cream, gel and serum textures, swatches, glass, frosted plastic and metallic caps on travertine, marble or colour-matched sets that would take a day to build for a shoot.
  • Beauty-device animation

LED masks, red-light wands, microneedle and infusion devices shown working: exploded parts, light, liquid and the action on skin, explained in seconds.
  • Commercials, ads and social media content

CGI commercials, launch films and ad creatives for Instagram Reels, TikTok and paid social, cut to 16:9, 1:1 and 9:16 from the same scenes and models. Your marketing team or agency runs the campaign.
  • Top-view render of a luxury beauty pop-up with a marble counter, vanity seats and product displays

    Retail counters, pop-ups and displays

Beauty counters, pop-up stores, window displays and trade show stands rendered with real stone, light and merchandising before fabrication.
  • CGI of oversized rose-gold cosmetic jars floating out of a glass elevator in a marble lobby

    FOOH and billboard CGI

Fake out-of-home clips of giant jars, tubes and ampoules in real streets and lobbies, built for social feeds and digital billboards.
  • Render of a minimalist beauty treatment room with a reclining chair, curved shelving and soft light

    Spa, salon and clinic interiors

Treatment rooms, salons and brand spaces for professional skincare lines and clinics that sell the experience together with the product.
  • AI-generated model in a racing jacket on a Paris street from an AI campaign image set

    AI models and campaign scenes

Photoreal AI models who hold, apply and wear your product in any location, with the pack itself rendered from an exact 3D model.

Any of these can be right. The set you need depends on where the product will be sold.

Which views to order is a late decision. What comes first is the channel the images have to win: an Amazon listing, a retail sell-in, a paid social launch or a pop-up opening. We start there, not with a shot list, and come back with a plan for what to show, where and in what order.

Cover of the guide on choosing between packshots, lifestyle scenes and a master product model

Free guide: one product, three ways to pay, and the one that cost $28,000

None of the brands above started with a forty-page specification. They started by choosing a route: packshots, lifestyle scenes or a master model for every colourway after. Bought still by still, one product's year of product rendering came to $28,000; from one master model, $10,520. The guide prices all three routes and shows which one fits your range.

Who orders beauty CGI

Who orders beauty CGI and what each team needs from it

Beauty CGI is ordered by teams that need the product to look right before it can be photographed: brand founders and marketing teams, fragrance houses, device makers, private-label manufacturers, agencies and retailers. Each reads the same render for a different decision, so we scope the shot list to the audience and reuse one model across all of them.

  • Flat-lay render of three cream skincare tubes on a cracked travertine slab

    Skincare, makeup and haircare brands

Need images for investors, pre-orders, the store and Amazon before stock arrives. We render every SKU, shade and size from packaging files, for a first launch or a private-label line, and keep the look identical across the range.

  • Render of a square perfume bottle with a gold emblem and black cap on a white pedestal

    Fragrance houses

Need glass, juice and metal to read as luxury. We render bottles, caps and liquid colour precisely, then build scenes and perfume animation for launch and gifting season.

  • Render of grey micro-infusion device kit boxes laid out at an angle on a light background

    Beauty-device makers

Need to show what an LED mask, red-light wand or microneedle device does. We model the device from CAD and explain it with exploded views, light and on-skin animation.

  • CGI of a giant skincare tube crashing into a silver sports car on a Paris street

    Agencies serving beauty brands

Need hero visuals and social films on a fixed air date. We work under your creative direction and white-label, from key visual to FOOH clip and 9:16 cut.

  • Render of a marble makeup counter with lit mirrors and upholstered chairs in a beauty store

    Retailers and pop-up stores

Need the counter or pop-up approved before fabrication. We render fixtures, stone, lighting and merchandising so the brand and the landlord sign off on images.

Pick your side of the beauty launch. Get the playbook written for it.

A skincare brand, a fragrance house and a device maker order the same packshots for different reasons, and each overpays in a different place. Choose yours: the shot list that moves your decision, a realistic budget range and the brief mistakes we see most from your side.

Common beauty rendering problems

Cosmetic Rendering Challenges We Solve

  • 01 Happened to us

No samples yet, launch date fixed

Packaging is still at the printer or the formula is in stability tests, but investors, retail buyers, the pre-order page and the Amazon listing need images now.

Our fixWe render from dielines, CAD and colour references, so the full image set is ready before the first sample ships.

  • 02 Happened to us

Glass, liquid and metal look fake

Perfume glass, cream texture, frosted plastic and metallic caps are where cheap CGI gives itself away, and buyers notice.

Our fixWe build refraction, subsurface light and reflections into every material and check each against a photo of the real finish.

  • 03 Happened to us

Every shade and size needs a reshoot

A range of twenty shades or three sizes multiplies studio days, and the light never quite matches between shoots.

Our fixOne model per pack, with shades and labels swapped in software, keeps every SKU identical in angle and light.

  • 04 Happened to us

A device is hard to explain

LED masks, red-light devices and microneedle applicators sell on how they work, which a still photo of the device cannot show.

Our fixExploded views and short animations show the light, needles or liquid at work, as we did for a micro-infusion skincare device.

  • 05 Happened to us

Campaign visuals arrive after the launch

Social media content, ads and retail visuals wait for the product to exist, so the launch goes out with a few phone photos.

Our fixWe start ad creatives, social media cuts, FOOH clips and pop-up renders in parallel from the same models, so they land with the launch.

Beauty CGI by launch stage

A cosmetics launch needs different visuals at each stage: pack concepts and investor images, sell-in images for retail buyers, listing sets for your store and Amazon, ads, social media content and a launch film, then fast variants for line extensions. We scope each set to the decision in front of you.

The pack models built for the first stage are reused for the next, so each new set costs less than starting over.

Got it — thank you. Expect an answer in your inbox within one business day.
What is cosmetic product rendering?

Cosmetic product rendering is photorealistic 3D imagery of skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrance and beauty devices, created from packaging files or CAD instead of a photoshoot. Brands use it for store and Amazon listings, retail sell-in, ads and social media, FOOH clips and launch films, often before the first production sample exists.

Is CGI cheaper than cosmetic product photography?

It depends on the range. For one finished product, a product photographer is often the quicker and cheaper choice. CGI wins when you have many shades, sizes or packs, when samples do not exist yet, or when the same product has to appear in many scenes, because one 3D model is reused instead of rebooking a studio and set.

What files do you need to render a cosmetic product?

Dielines or packaging artwork, CAD or 3D files of the bottle, jar or device, and photos of a physical sample are the best start. Without CAD, dimensions, label files and reference photos are enough: we build the cosmetic 3D model ourselves and match every finish to the real pack.

We do not have a final pack design yet. Can you help?

Yes. Many brands come to us with a brief, not a finished design. We develop pack and label concepts in 3D, show each route on the shelf and in the hand, and refine the chosen one into the model used for every later image, so your printer works from a design that is already approved.

Can we show renders to investors, retail buyers and pre-order customers before stock exists?

Yes, and most beauty launches start there. Renders built from your final packaging files show the product as it will ship, so they work in investor decks, line sheets and sell sheets for retail buyers, crowdfunding and pre-order pages. For pre-orders, keep every image true to the product you will deliver.

Can we use the renders on Amazon and in our online store?

Yes for your store, social media and most listing slots. Amazon asks for a professional photograph of the actual product as the main image, so many brands keep a photo there and use renders for the secondary images, A+ content and 360° spins, where CGI saves the most.

Can you create beauty marketing content: social media, ads and a promo video?

Yes, the visual part of it. From the same 3D models we make ad creatives, Instagram Reels and TikTok cuts, a launch commercial and FOOH clips, sized for every placement. Media buying, posting and campaign management stay with your marketing team or agency; we work alongside them or under their creative direction.

Why not just use an AI product photo generator?

AI generators are fine for quick mood images, but they redraw the product: label text, cap shape and colour drift from image to image. We build an exact 3D model of the pack and use AI only where it helps, for models, skin and locations, so the product itself never changes between images.

Can CGI make glass, cream and metal look real?

Yes, when every material is built and checked against a physical reference. We model refraction in perfume glass, subsurface light in creams and gels, and the exact sheen of metallic or soft-touch caps, then compare each render with a photo of the real finish before delivery.

Do you make skincare and perfume commercials and animation?

Yes. From the same models we produce skincare animation, perfume animation and beauty-device explainers: texture swirls, liquid splashes, exploded parts and on-skin action, cut for launch films, paid social and retail screens. Timing, camera and sound come from our 3D product animation team.

How do you render beauty devices like LED masks or microneedle tools?

We model the device from CAD, then show what it does: light output, needle depth, liquid flow or heat, with exploded views and short animations. For a micro-infusion skincare brand we combined device renders, packaging and a skin-layer explainer into one launch set.

Can you render a whole range of shades and sizes?

Yes, and that is where CGI saves the most. One model per pack carries every shade, size and label version, so a large range is rendered in identical light and angles. An online beauty retailer replaced repeat product shoots with this approach.

How long does cosmetic product rendering take?

It depends on how many packs need modelling, material complexity and revisions. We agree the schedule against your launch, sell-in or campaign dates before we start, and run packshots, animation, retail scenes and FOOH clips in parallel teams so the full set lands on time.
