3D Medical Animation That Explains Your Device, Procedure or Mechanism of Action
Medical animation services we produce for medtech, pharma and clinics
Medical animation is 3D animation that makes a medical device, a procedure or a biological process visible and easy to follow. We model the anatomy and the product from your CAD files, scans and references, animate each step to an approved script, and deliver films for launches, training, sales meetings and patient education.
-
Surgical and procedure animation
Each step of an operation shown in order: access, instruments, implant placement and closure, with anatomy built to the references your surgeons approve. -
Medical device animation
Your instrument or device modelled from CAD and shown in use: how it is held, what moves inside it and what makes it different from the one on the shelf. -
Mechanism of action animation
What happens after a capsule is swallowed or a molecule binds, shown at the scale of cells and receptors, from the explanation your medical and regulatory teams approve. -
Pharmaceutical and capsule animation
Capsules, tablets and formulations opened up on screen, from the shell to the granules. For supplement packshots and launch visuals, see our supplement rendering work. -
Orthopedic and implant animation
Spinal cages, screws, plates and guides shown against bone, so a surgeon sees the fit and a sales rep can explain it in one minute. -
Surgical training animation
Suturing, knot tying, incisions and instrument handling slowed down and seen from angles a camera in theatre never gets, for VR simulators, e-learning, courses and congress talks. -
Dental animation
Dental instruments, implants and procedures in macro detail, for product launches, distributor training and chairside patient explanations. -
Digital health and wearable visuals
Apps, wearables and connected devices shown in daily life, with the interface and the data on screen, before the hardware is in production.
Not sure which medical animation fits your launch, training or sales deck?
The format follows the audience. A surgeon, a sales rep and a patient need different films about the same device. Tell us who will watch and where, and we come back with a script outline, a shot list and the hours it takes.

Most studios sell you renders. We work out what will actually move your project forward.
Ask a rendering studio what you need and you get a quote for renders. We start from the outcome you are paid for: a committee that signs off, enquiries on a scheme that does not exist yet, a buyer who stops comparing, an investor who commits.
Send one email and our 3D strategist replies with a commercial plan for the project: what to show, to whom, in what order, where it goes to work, and what it takes. The list of deliverables is the end of that plan, not the beginning.
Free, and yours to keep even if you never work with us.
Thank you – your request has been sent.
Our 3D strategist is reading the project now and will write back with the plan: what to show, to whom, and in what order.

Free guide: fifteen seconds of film is 360 frames, and we priced every one
The brands in the row above rarely ask for three films. They ask for one hero spot, name two channels and let the storyboard do the rest. A launch brief taken literally came to $20,850 of product animation; the launch it described needed $7,500. The guide prices explainer, hero spot and loop side by side, with the cutdowns each channel really needs.

Medical Animation Challenges We Solve
-
01 Happened to us
Anatomy a clinician rejects
Stock anatomy and guessed proportions get spotted by the first surgeon who watches, and the film loses the audience it was made for.
Our fixWe build anatomy from the references, imaging and literature you approve, and your clinical reviewer signs off the storyboard and key frames.
-
02 Happened to us
A device that looks like someone else’s
Generic 3D models redraw the grip, the tip or the mechanism, so the animation sells a product you do not make.
Our fixWe model the device from your CAD or engineering drawings and check every close-up against the real part.
-
03 Happened to us
A film that says more than your label
Animation that implies outcomes your regulatory team has not cleared gets stuck in medical, legal and regulatory review.
Our fixWe animate what the approved script describes and add no claims; on-screen text and voice-over come from your cleared copy.
-
04 Happened to us
Too complex for the audience
One film tries to serve surgeons, sales reps and patients, and ends up too technical for some and too simple for others.
Our fixOne message per shot, and separate cuts for each audience built from the same 3D assets.
-
05 Happened to us
Review rounds that never end
Feedback arrives after the animation is rendered, and each change means weeks of rework and a missed launch or congress date.
Our fixApprovals happen at script, storyboard, styleframes and animatic, before the costly frames are rendered.

How 3D medical animation is produced, step by step
Every medical animation we make goes through the same five steps. The science and the story are approved on paper and on still frames first, because a change to a storyboard takes an hour and a change to a rendered shot takes days.
On our surgical education project, the procedural steps were aligned with practising surgeons before animation, and every scene was checked for anatomical accuracy.

Pricing
Medical Animation Pricing
Medical animation cost depends on the runtime, the number of shots, how much anatomy has to be built, whether CAD files exist, and the number of review rounds and audience versions. We stay flexible and offer options for every need — from a single one-off task to ongoing creative production support.

Why Choose Us
A CGI Studio Behind Your Medical Animation
We came to medical animation from photoreal product rendering and animation, so we treat a device or an organ the way we treat any product we render: exact in shape, lit with intent and ready for the extreme close-ups that medical films depend on.

FAQ
Questions about 3D medical animation
Didn’t find your question?
Ask it here. A producer replies within one business day — with an answer, not a sales call.
What is medical animation?
Medical animation is 3D animation that explains a medical device, a surgical procedure or a biological process such as a mechanism of action. Artists model the anatomy and the product, animate each step to an approved script and render it as a film for training, sales, launches or patient education.
What does a medical animation company do?
A medical animation company turns a brief, references and engineering files into a finished film. We write or refine the script, storyboard every shot, build the 3D anatomy and devices, animate and render them, then edit with labels and sound to your approved copy, with reviews by your experts at each step.
How do you keep the anatomy and the device accurate?
We build anatomy from references, imaging and literature you approve and model devices from your CAD or drawings. Your clinical reviewer checks the storyboard, the styleframes and the animatic. On our surgical education project, procedural steps were aligned with practising surgeons before any scene was animated.
Can the animation make claims about our product?
The animation shows what your approved script describes; we do not add claims. Efficacy statements, data and on-screen outcome text come from your cleared copy and stay your responsibility. In the mechanism of action case, the brand added its own claim cards to the edit after delivery.
What do you need from us to start?
A brief with the audience, the message, the runtime and the channels, plus what you have: CAD or STEP files, product photos, surgical technique guides, papers or slides. If you only have drawings, our 3D product modeling team builds the device first.
Can you animate surgical skills such as suturing and knot tying?
Yes. We animate surgical skills hand by hand: suturing, knot tying, instrument grips and tissue handling, slowed down and framed the way a trainee needs to see them. Recently we produced a 32-second 4K knot-tying film for a company that builds VR surgical simulations, made to the angles their surgeons specified.
How is medical animation different from product animation?
Medical animation adds anatomy, procedures and biology to the product, and it passes through medical and regulatory review. A device shown only as a product, turning and opening on a plain background, is closer to our 3D product animation service, which uses the same modelling team.
How long does a medical animation project take?
Timing depends on runtime, the amount of anatomy to build and the number of review rounds on your side. Most of the calendar goes into script, storyboard and styleframes, which you approve before rendering. Tell us your launch or congress date and we plan the steps backwards from it.
What formats do you deliver?
A master film in 16:9, plus the versions the project needs: 9:16 and 1:1 cutdowns for social, loops for websites and trade-show screens, a version without labels for translation, and high-resolution stills for brochures and slides. Voice-over and music are scoped per project.
