Retail store design services and 3D visualization for every part of the store, from the storefront to the till

Retail store design is the concept, layout, fixtures, materials and lighting of a shop, showroom or pop-up, decided before the fit-out. We design the store or follow your designer’s plans, build it once in 3D, and our retail rendering covers every view the opening needs: the layout from above, the sales floor, the displays, the storefront and the launch content.

  • Render of a toy and book store with oak shelving, display niches with plush toys and a bright aisle under linear lights

    Store concept and interior design

No design yet? Bring the empty unit, the brand book and a few stores you like. We propose the retail concept, the retail interior design, materials and lighting and show them in 3D, so you approve the store before anyone draws construction plans.
  • Top view render of a store layout with an L-shaped marble display counter, a central fixture, stools and a mirrored column

3D store layouts and floor plans

Retail store layout on your floor plan: zones, the customer path, fixtures, fitting rooms and the till, shown from above and then at eye level, so you test the flow and the merchandise capacity before the shopfitter prices it.
  • Render of a fashion boutique with an oak bench, tall mirrors, garment rails and soft daylight on a stone floor

    Boutiques, fashion and flagship stores

Boutique interior design and flagship store design for fashion, jewelry and lifestyle brands: racks, tables, fitting rooms, lounges and the brand moments customers photograph.
  • Render of a lighting showroom setting with a collection of ceramic table lamps on wood shelves and a low table

    Brand and manufacturer showrooms

Showroom design and showroom interior design for furniture, lighting, kitchen and bath and tile brands, and car showrooms for dealerships: collections staged the way buyers will walk through them, with every product modeled from your files.
  • Render of a pop-up store counter in burgundy veined marble with product displays and a branded overhead panel

    Pop-up stores and brand activations

Pop-up store design and experiential retail for launches, mall atriums, mall kiosks and department stores: the counter, the display islands and the signage, ready to approve with the landlord and the fabricator.
  • Render of a shop front with three tall bronze-framed doors, potted olive trees and warm wall lights on a stone facade

    Storefronts, signage and window displays

Storefront design, shop front signage and window displays rendered on the real street, so the landlord, the mall and the city see the facade before you apply for the sign permit.
  • Render of a marble cosmetics counter with makeup displays, round mirrors and bar stools in a light store

    POP displays, counters and shop-in-shops

Point of purchase displays, cash counters, kiosks, gondolas and shop-in-shop units for brands that sell through other people’s stores, rendered for the retailer’s approval before the first unit is built.
  • CGI of a fashion store facade dressed with oversized red bows above the windows for a holiday campaign

    Launch and marketing visuals

Opening announcements, window and FOOH campaigns, social media posts, ads and a promo film of the store, all cut from the same 3D model for your marketing team or agency.

Which views you need depends on who has to say yes next.

Investors want the concept, the landlord wants the storefront and the fit-out, customers want the reason to come in. We start with the decision the images have to win, then render what that audience needs to see.

Cover of the guide on sizing an architectural rendering order

Free guide: you order 12 images, publish 4 and pay $3,700 for the rest

Look at the logos above: none of those teams orders architectural rendering by the dozen. They start from where the building will be seen and let the image count follow. In our composite of a typical order, twelve views were bought, four were published and $3,700 went on images nobody used. The guide gives you the priced order, the place-by-place sizing list and the short brief to send instead.

Who orders retail design and renders

Who orders retail store design and 3D renders, and what each team needs

Retail design and 3D renders are ordered by six kinds of teams, and each reads the same store differently: a founder sees the brand, a landlord sees the fit-out, a shopfitter sees what to build. We scope the views to that reader, and one 3D model of the store serves all of them.

  • Render of a boutique lounge with a daybed, leather chairs, linen curtains and a garment rail

    Retail brands and store owners

Need the store designed, funded and approved before the lease clock runs. We design the concept and render it for the business plan, the landlord and the opening.

  • Render of a furniture collection staged as a living room with a curved sofa and a marble coffee table

    Showroom brands and manufacturers

Furniture, lighting, kitchen and bath and car brands need a showroom that sells the collection. We render the showroom concept and every product in it from your CAD files.

A brand opening its first store, a showroom owner and a shopfitter order the same retail renders for different reasons, and each overpays in a different place. Choose yours: the views that move your decision, a realistic budget range and the brief mistakes we see most from your side.

Common retail design problems

Retail Store Design Challenges We Solve

  • 01 Happened to us

The money comes before the store exists

Investors, a bank or a franchise partner fund a store from a business plan and a floor plan, and nobody can picture the brand from a spreadsheet.

Our fixWe design the concept and render the storefront, the sales floor and the key display for the business plan and the investor deck.

  • 02 Happened to us

The landlord and the mall have to sign off

Malls and landlords review the tenant design, the storefront and the signage before the fit-out starts, and a flat elevation invites rounds of comments.

Our fixWe render the storefront, the signage and the interior to the mall’s design criteria, so the tenant design review starts from the real store.

  • 03 Happened to us

The layout is decided once and paid for years

A fitting room in the wrong place or a dead corner costs sales every day of the lease, and a 2D plan rarely shows it.

Our fixWe build the layout in 3D and walk it from the door to the till, so the customer path, the zones and the fixture count are tested before fit-out.

  • 04 Happened to us

Every supplier sends a different picture

The designer, the shopfitter, the fixture maker and the brand team each send their own drawings, and the store that opens looks like none of them.

Our fixOne 3D model brings the interior, the fixtures, the displays and the storefront together, and every image comes from it.

  • 05 Happened to us

Opening day needs content before there is a store

The launch campaign, the window teaser and the social posts have to start weeks before the store is finished and can be photographed.

Our fixWe render the store, the windows and the products for the opening campaign, so marketing starts while the shopfitters are still working.

Retail design and visuals by store stage

What a new store needs from design and renders changes with each step to the opening. Early views raise money and win the landlord, later ones guide the fit-out and fill the store on day one, so we scope each set to the decision in front of you.

The 3D model built for the first stage is reused for the next, so each new set costs less than starting over.

What are retail store design services?

Retail store design services cover the concept, layout, fixtures, materials, lighting and storefront of a shop, showroom or pop-up, decided before the fit-out. We design the store or follow your designer’s plans and show it in photoreal 3D, so you, your investors and your landlord approve it before anything is built.

I have an empty unit and no designer. Can you design the store?

Yes. Send the floor plan or photos of the unit, your brand guidelines and a few stores you like. We propose the concept, the layout, materials and fixtures, show them in 3D and refine them with you. About half of our projects start without a finished design.

Are you a retail design firm or a rendering studio?

Both, within limits. We design the store concept and interiors and render them. Our retail 3D rendering is built on that design. We do not produce construction drawings, MEP or permit sets; your architect or shopfitter does that from the approved design, and we work alongside them and hand over the model and views.

Can we use the renders in a business plan, an investor deck or a franchise pitch?

Yes, that is one of the most common uses. The storefront, the sales floor and the hero display show investors, the bank financing the store or a franchise partner what they are funding. We deliver them in the sizes your deck and documents need.

Will a landlord or a mall accept the renders for tenant design review?

Malls and landlords review the storefront, the signage and the interior against their design criteria, and renders built from your drawings are what they usually ask to see. Send us the criteria document and we render to it, before the tenant improvement work starts. Formal approval stays with the landlord, and the technical submission comes from your architect or shopfitter.

Can you design a store layout and a 3D floor plan?

Yes. We plan the zones, the customer path, the fixtures, the fitting rooms and the till on your floor plan, show it as a 3D floor plan from above and then at eye level. See our 3D floor plan rendering service for formats.

What kinds of stores do you design?

We do retail and shop design for boutiques, fashion and shoe stores, jewelry stores, concept and flagship stores, florists, bookstores and gift shops, pharmacies, grocery, convenience and liquor stores, optical stores, dispensaries and mall kiosks. The process is the same: concept, layout, fixtures, storefront and launch visuals from one 3D model.

Can you redesign an existing store before a remodel or renovation?

Yes. For a store remodel or renovation we model the existing store from your measurements, plans and photos and render the new look over it, so you approve the refresh before the store closes for work and the shopfitter prices exactly what you signed off.

Do you design showrooms for furniture, lighting, kitchen and bath or car brands?

Yes. We design and render brand and manufacturer showrooms, including car showrooms for dealerships, with every product modeled from your CAD files, so dealers and buyers see the collection as it will be staged. For an online showroom, see our guide to the virtual showroom.

Can you design a pop-up store or a brand activation?

Yes. We design and render pop-up stores, mall atrium units, department store counters and brand activations, ready for the landlord’s and the fabricator’s approval. Beauty counters and beauty pop-ups have their own page: cosmetics rendering.

Do you render POP displays, fixtures and shop-in-shops for manufacturers?

Yes. Display and fixture makers and consumer brands order renders of counters, gondolas, POP displays and shop-in-shop units placed in the retailer’s store, to win the order and get the design signed before production. We can deliver them white-label.

Can you create the marketing content for the opening: social media, ads and a promo video?

Yes. From the same 3D model we produce the opening announcement, window teasers, social media posts, Reels and stories, ad creatives and a promo film of the store. Your marketing team or agency runs the campaign, and we deliver in the formats they ask for.

How is this different from the free 3D design a fixture supplier offers?

A supplier’s free layout shows their fixtures in a standard room. We design the whole store around your brand, render it photoreal from every angle the landlord and the customers will see, and keep every supplier’s products in one model.

Do you work on shopping centers and retail parks?

For developers and owners of shopping centers and mixed-use retail, the building, the leasing visuals and the tenant mix are covered by our commercial 3D rendering service. This page is about designing a single store, showroom or pop-up.

How long does a retail design project take?

It depends on whether we design the store or follow your designer’s plans, and on the number of views and films. We agree the schedule with you at the start and plan the sets around your landlord, fit-out and opening dates.

How much does retail store design and rendering cost?

It depends on the size of the store, whether we design the concept, the number of views and whether a promo film is included. We quote each project after seeing the floor plan, so send it and you get a fixed quote.
