Oil and Gas Animation for Pipelines, Equipment and Energy Projects
Oil and gas 3D animation for every audience your project has to convince
Oil and gas animation is 3D video that shows equipment, a process or a construction method working where a camera cannot go: underground, inside a pipe or a valve, under the sea or before the site exists. We build it from your CAD, drawings and method statements, for investors, regulators, clients and crews.

Pipeline construction and installation methods
Trenching, lifting, joining, bedding and backfill shown in order, so a new installation method is clear before anyone visits a site.
Drilling and well animation
Rig setup, drilling and casing sequences and well completion, with cutaways that show what happens below the surface.
Subsea and offshore animation
Subsea equipment, risers and installation from vessels, animated from your engineering models where filming is impossible.
Equipment cutaways: valves, pumps and compressors
Transparent and sectioned views show flow, seals and moving parts the way an engineer would explain them at a whiteboard.
Hydropower, geothermal and utility projects
Penstocks, wells, pumping stations and utility networks shown in context, for developers, utilities and public consultation.
Equipment demos for trade shows
Looping films of your machine at work for the booth screen, plus short clips for the website, sales decks and social media.
Safety and HSE training animation
Procedures, hazards and the correct sequence shown step by step, for inductions, toolbox talks and manuals in any language.
Films for investors, regulators and tenders
A neutral, technically accurate film for investor decks, board meetings, regulatory submissions and bid documents.
Which film you need first depends on who has to say yes next.
An investor checks the economics, a regulator checks the risk, a utility checks how the works affect its network and a crew checks the sequence. We start from that decision, then choose the length, the views and the versions.

Oil and Gas Animation for Pipelines, Equipment and Energy Projects
Most studios sell you an animation. We work out what will actually move your project forward.
Ask an animation studio what you need and you get a quote for a film. We start from the decision you need: an investor who commits, a regulator who signs off, a client who awards the tender, a crew that works safely.
Send one email and our producer replies with a plan for your project: what to show, to whom, in what order, which version goes where, and what it takes. The film is the end of that plan, not the beginning.
Free, and yours to keep even if you never work with us.
Thank you – your request has been sent.
Our producer is reading your request now and will write back with the plan: what to show, to whom and in what order.
One film, two versions
Captioned and Clean Versions of One Engineering Film
Should our oil and gas animation have text on screen?
Make both. A captioned film explains itself when it is emailed or played on a stand; a clean version without text fits live presentations, decks and other languages. For HydroFoamer we delivered a 1:51 captioned 4K film and a 49-second clean cut of the same footage.
- Captioned film Short captions name each stage, so the film works without a presenter.
- Clean cut No text on screen; a presenter talks over it in any language.
- Loops and stills Short loops for screens and 4K stills for decks and the website, from the same scenes.

Free guide: a 60-second film is 1,440 frames. This brief made it $19,740
Behind every logo in that row is a brief that fits in an email: what the film must do, where it plays, how long it runs. The ones that grow into shot lists get expensive fast; one composite 3D architectural animation brief came to $19,740 for a building that needed $4,600. The guide prices each line and gives you the seven storyboard decisions that control the budget.

Pipeline Construction Animation for HydroFoamer
A 1:51 4K film of the HydroFoamer pipeline installation method: trench preparation, a vacuum lifter placing the pipe, survey lasers and sensors aligning it, a track-based hydraulic unit pushing it into place, polyurethane foam sprayed around it and native soil backfilled.
Materials that carry the method
Realistic Foam, Soil and Fluids in Oil and Gas Animation
How do you make foam, soil or oil look real in an animation?
We find the one material the method depends on and pay it the closest attention. For a pipeline method that was sprayed polyurethane: it leaves the nozzle, builds up in a rough, dense layer, fills the gap around the pipe and sets. Close-ups show the texture; wide shots show the speed.
- Soil and trench Native soil, bedding and backfill with real texture and compaction.
- Foam and coatings Spray, build-up and curing that read as a real material.
- Water, oil and gas Flow through pipes, valves and wells in sectioned views.

Oil and Gas Animation Challenges We Solve
-
01 Happened to us
The work happens where no camera can go
Underground, inside a pipe, under the sea or inside a valve, the important part of the process is invisible in site footage.
Our fixWe cut the ground, the pipe or the casing open in 3D and keep the camera where the explanation is.
-
02 Happened to us
Engineers and investors need different films
A film detailed enough for engineers loses investors, and a glossy one makes engineers doubt the method.
Our fixWe keep the engineering accurate and the story simple, and put the technical detail in captions or a separate cut.
-
03 Happened to us
Materials look fake, so the method looks unproven
Foam, soil, water or oil that move like plastic make a new method look like a sketch.
Our fixWe pay the closest attention to the material that carries the idea, as we did with sprayed polyurethane foam for a pipeline method.
-
04 Happened to us
The film has to work with and without a presenter
A film with text on screen is awkward in a live talk; a film without text says nothing when it is emailed.
Our fixWe deliver a captioned film and a clean version, so one production covers email, stands and presentations.
-
05 Happened to us
The equipment has changed since the last video
An old concept video shows machines and steps that no longer match the method.
Our fixWe rebuild the sequence from your current drawings and reference photos, and keep the scenes for the next update.

Oil and gas animation by project stage
Most oil and gas films are ordered for one decision: money, an approval, a contract, a sale or a safe crew. The same 3D scenes can serve every stage after it, so plan the model once.
For HydroFoamer, a Dutch pipeline technology company, one 4K film and a clean cut were made for technical presentations to utilities, regulators, energy developers and investors in Canada and Europe.

Films about a method
Animating a Construction Method, Not Just a Machine
Can you animate a new installation method that is not yet on many sites?
Yes. A method film follows one stretch of work from start to finish, with every machine at real scale and every step in order, so the audience sees how the parts fit together. We build it from your method statement, drawings and reference photos, and your engineers approve the step list first.
- Step list first Your engineers approve the order of operations before animation starts.
- Real scale Machines, pipes and people sized from your data.
- What we do not do Engineering calculations, structural analysis and construction drawings stay with your engineers; we visualise their result.

Site Footage, 3D Animation or CAD Recordings: How They Compare
Should we film our site or make an animation?
Film what already exists and people want to see; animate what cannot be filmed yet or cannot be seen. Most oil and gas projects need animation for the method and the equipment, and footage for the team and finished sites, and both can be cut into one film.
| Site footage | 3D animation | CAD screen recording | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it can show | Only what is visible on a real site on the day | Underground, inside pipes and equipment, and before the site exists | The model itself, without the site or the work around it |
| Before the first project | Not possible until there is a site | Possible from drawings, CAD and photos | Possible, but reads as an engineering file |
| Changes | A new shoot | Edit the scene and render again | Record again |
| Best for | Teams, testimonials, finished sites | Methods, processes, investors, regulators, bids | Internal design reviews |

FAQ
Questions about oil and gas animation
Didn’t find your question?
Ask about your equipment, your method or your deadline. A producer replies within one business day, with an answer, not a sales call.
What is oil and gas animation?
Oil and gas animation is 3D video that shows how equipment, a process or a construction method works in the oil, gas and energy industry. It shows what cameras cannot film, such as the inside of a pipe, a well or a valve, and works before a project or a machine exists.
Who uses oil and gas 3D animation?
Equipment makers, technology companies, contractors, operators, utilities and engineering firms use it to raise investment, win approvals and tenders, sell at trade shows and train crews. Each audience gets the same technology explained for its own decision, often from the same 3D scenes.
What do you need from us to start?
CAD models in STEP or FBX if you have them, drawings, a method statement or a process description, material specifications and photos from real sites. If you have an older video or presentation, send it too. Your engineers then approve a step list before we animate anything.
How long should an oil and gas animation be?
One to two minutes for an investor or regulator film, 15 to 60 seconds for a trade show loop, and longer for training, split into short chapters. Our pipeline construction film for HydroFoamer runs 1:51, with a 49-second clean cut for live presentations.
Can the animation be used in regulatory submissions and tenders?
Yes, as an illustration of your method or project. We keep the tone neutral, the scale and sequence accurate and the claims limited to what your engineers approve. The film supports your documents; it does not replace engineering calculations or drawings, which stay with your engineers.
Do you make engineering calculations or construction drawings?
No. We visualise engineering, we do not produce it. Load calculations, structural analysis, permits and construction drawings stay with your engineers and consultants. We work from their results and can show loads, flows or stresses as clear overlays based on the values they give us.
How do you keep an oil and gas animation technically accurate?
We agree the logic before the look. Your team approves the step list, then the storyboard, then animation previews, and checks scale, sequence and labels at each round. Machines and parts are built from your CAD or drawings, not from generic stock models.
Can you make foam, soil, water or oil look real?
Yes. We pay the closest attention to the material the method depends on. For a pipeline method that was sprayed polyurethane foam: we showed it leaving the nozzle, building up, filling the gap around the pipe and setting, in close-ups and in wide shots.
Do you also animate hydropower, geothermal and utility projects?
Yes. Pipelines, penstocks, wells, pumping stations and utility networks follow the same approach as oil and gas: a cut through the ground or the structure, real scale and a clear sequence. Our HydroFoamer film was made for hydropower, geothermal and energy infrastructure audiences.
How much does oil and gas animation cost?
It depends on the length, the number of machines and sections, the materials and the versions you need. A short equipment loop costs far less than a two-minute method film with foam, soil and several machines. We quote a fixed price after seeing your files and your brief.
Can you work with our agency or PR team?
Yes. We produce the animation and the stills; your agency or PR team uses them in campaigns, investor videos and trade show content. We can deliver under your brand, cut versions for each channel and hand over clean plates for their own edits.
Do you work with energy companies outside the United States?
Yes. We work remotely with clients around the world. Our HydroFoamer film was made for a company in the Netherlands, for technical presentations in Canada and Europe, with all reviews and delivery online.
