Medical Device and Medical Equipment Rendering for Manufacturers
Medical equipment rendering for every place the device has to sell, from the catalog to the trade show
Medical device rendering is photoreal CGI of a device or a piece of medical equipment, built from the manufacturer’s CAD model instead of a photoshoot. We model and render the device once and reuse it for the catalog, the website, distributor decks, tenders, trade shows, manuals and the launch. It is not industrial design: we do not engineer the device, we show the one your engineers designed. Moving films live on our medical animation page.

Catalog and website images for the whole product line
One camera, one light setup and one background for every model in the series, so the catalog, the website, the e-commerce pages and the distributor price list read as one product line. Delivered on white and as transparent PNG cutouts.
Exploded views and cutaways
Exploded views that show what is inside the housing: panels, filters, seals and brackets separated in the order they are assembled, for the sales deck, the service manual and the tender. For a moving assembly, see 3D assembly animation.
Close-ups of materials and details
Macro views of the parts buyers ask about: a perforated panel, a duct connection, the knurling on an instrument handle, a seal, a surface finish. Stainless steel, anodised aluminium, medical-grade plastics and glass, rendered the way they look under clinical light.
CGI instead of a product photoshoot
No prototype to ship, no studio to book and no retouching of reflections on stainless steel. Rendering from CAD replaces medical device photography with clean images before the first unit leaves production, and a new colour or variant is a re-render, not a reshoot.
The device in the clinical setting
The device in the operating room, the ward, the lab or the treatment room it is made for, so hospital buyers, planners and architects see the scale, the ceiling height and the clearances. We build the room around your CAD model.
Trade show and exhibition visuals
Hero images for the booth walls and the large screens, product views for the handouts and a render of the stand itself, ready weeks before MEDICA or your regional medical trade show, even if the demo unit is still in production.
Visuals for IFU, manuals and training
Clean technical views for instructions for use, user manuals, service guides, quick-start sheets and training slides: plan views, numbered parts and step-by-step positions. Your regulatory team owns the IFU text and the labeling; we supply the illustrations in print and screen sizes.
Launch marketing visuals
Launch content for the device: website hero images, LinkedIn and social media posts, ads, the product brochure and the distributor presentation, all cut from the same model. We make the visuals; your marketing team or agency runs the campaign.
Which views you need depends on who has to see the device next.
Distributors want the catalog, hospital buyers want the room, the tender wants the inside of the housing, the trade show wants the hero. We start with the decision the images have to win, then render what that audience needs to see.

Most studios sell you renders. We work out what will actually move your project forward.
Ask a rendering studio what you need and you get a quote for renders. We start from the outcome you are paid for: a committee that signs off, enquiries on a scheme that does not exist yet, a buyer who stops comparing, an investor who commits.
Send one email and our 3D strategist replies with a commercial plan for the project: what to show, to whom, in what order, where it goes to work, and what it takes. The list of deliverables is the end of that plan, not the beginning.
Free, and yours to keep even if you never work with us.
Thank you – your request has been sent.
Our 3D strategist is reading the project now and will write back with the plan: what to show, to whom, and in what order.

Free guide: your CAD file is not a render model, and fixing it cost $5,450
When the brands above commission 3D product modelling, they send one STEP export, a finish list and a sample. A raw engineering file with none of that took $5,450 of repair and rebuilding, against $2,200 for the same model from a clean handover. The guide prices what CAD leaves out and gives you the handover checklist to send from engineering.

Medical Device Rendering Challenges We Solve
-
01 Happened to us
The device is ready before the photos are
Sales, the website and distributors need images while the first production units are still being validated, and nobody wants a prototype photographed.
Our fixWe render from your CAD model, so the images are ready before the first unit ships.
-
02 Happened to us
Stainless steel and white plastic photograph badly
Reflective housings, perforated panels and white plastics turn into glare, grey or noise on camera, and every shot needs heavy retouching.
Our fixIn CGI we control every reflection and edge, so the finish reads the way it does in the clinic.
-
03 Happened to us
Nine variants, nine different-looking photos
A product line photographed over several years ends up with different angles, light and backgrounds, and the catalog looks like several companies.
Our fixOne camera, one light setup and one background for every model, so the line reads as a series.
-
04 Happened to us
Buyers cannot see what is inside
Hospital engineers, procurement teams and tender panels want to see the components, the filters and the mounting, and a closed housing tells them nothing.
Our fixExploded views and cutaways show the inside, in the order it is assembled.
-
05 Happened to us
Every channel wants a different picture
Distributors, tenders, trade shows, the website and the manual each ask for their own sizes and views, and one photoshoot covers only some of them.
Our fixOne 3D model feeds every format, and a new view is a render, not a reshoot.

Medical device visuals by product stage
What a medical device needs from renders changes with each step from the engineering model to the market. Early views sell the idea to investors and the first distributors, later ones carry the catalog, the tenders, the trade shows and the manuals, so we scope each set to the decision in front of you.
The 3D model built from your CAD for the first stage is reused for the next, so each new set costs less than starting over.

Questions about medical device rendering and medical equipment visuals
Didn’t find your question?
Ask it here. A producer replies within one business day — with an answer, not a sales call.
What is medical device rendering?
Medical device rendering is photoreal CGI of a medical device or a piece of medical equipment, built from the manufacturer’s CAD model. It replaces a product photoshoot for catalogs, websites, distributor materials, tenders, trade shows and manuals, and it is ready before the first production unit exists.
Can you render from STEP, Inventor or SolidWorks files?
Yes, we accept any CAD format: STEP, IGES and native files from SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, Fusion 360, Rhino and other systems, plus drawings or photos for materials and colours. We prepare the model for rendering without changing its geometry. No CAD yet? We can model the device from drawings and photos; see our 3D product modeling service.
What kinds of medical devices and medical equipment do you render?
Capital equipment and devices of every size: operating room air and laminar flow systems, surgical lights and ceiling pendants, imaging and diagnostic equipment, lab equipment, hospital beds and carts, dental and surgical instruments, implants, handheld and wearable devices,, and their sterile packaging. For products outside healthcare, see our 3D product rendering services.
Is CGI better than photographing the device?
For most medical devices, yes. CGI needs no finished unit, no studio and no retouching of glare on stainless steel or white plastic, and it gives every model in the range the same angle and light. Photography still makes sense for a device in use with real clinicians.
Can you render a whole product line in one consistent style?
Yes. We set one camera, one light setup and one background, approve it on the first model and then render every variant in exactly that frame. In our operating room air system project, nine models were rendered in the same isometric angle for the catalog and the website.
Can you make exploded views and cutaways of a device?
Yes. We separate the housing, panels, filters, seals and fixings in assembly order, or cut the device open to show the inside, for sales decks, manuals and tenders. For an animated assembly sequence, see 3D assembly animation.
Can you show the device installed in an operating room or a clinic?
Yes. We model the operating room, ward, lab or treatment room around your device, with realistic ceiling heights, lights and furniture, so buyers and hospital planners see how it fits. Send the installation drawings and we follow them.
Can renders go into tender documentation and procurement packs?
Yes, as visuals. Exploded views, the device in the room and the product range help a tender panel understand the offer. The technical specification, certificates and compliance documents come from your team; we supply the images in the sizes the tender asks for.
Can you make illustrations for the IFU, a user manual or training?
Yes. We render clean technical views, numbered parts and step-by-step positions for instructions for use, user manuals, service guides and training slides. Your regulatory team writes and approves the IFU text and the labeling. Animated training films are made by our medical animation team.
Can you create launch marketing content: website, LinkedIn, ads and a brochure?
Yes. From the same 3D model we produce website hero images, LinkedIn and social media posts, ad creatives, the product brochure and the distributor presentation. Your marketing team or agency runs the campaign, and we deliver in the formats they ask for.
Can you prepare trade show visuals before the device is built?
Yes. Booth graphics, large-screen loops, handout images and a render of the stand itself can all be made from the CAD model weeks before MEDICA or any regional medical trade show, while the demo unit is still in production.
Do you design or engineer medical devices?
No. We do not do industrial design, engineering or regulatory work on the device. We visualize the device your engineers or design firm have designed, accurately to the CAD, and present it in every format sales and marketing need.
Do you make medical device animations?
Yes, on a separate service. Mechanism of action films, product animations and procedure videos are covered on our medical animation page; this page is about still images, exploded views and visual sets.
Are there rules for using renders in medical device marketing?
Promotional materials and labeling for medical devices are regulated in most markets, so your regulatory or medical affairs team should approve the final images and copy. We render the device exactly as specified and change any view they flag.
Can you also make an interactive 3D view or a product configurator?
Yes. The same model can power a 360 view of the device or a web configurator for the product line, built and embedded on your website.
How long does a medical device rendering project take?
It depends on the number of models and views, the state of the CAD and whether exploded views or a clinical room are included. We agree the schedule at the start and plan the sets around your launch, trade show and tender dates.
How much does medical device rendering cost?
It depends on the number of models, the complexity of the assembly, the views and the materials. We quote each project after seeing the CAD files, so send them and you get a fixed quote.
