Car dealership and car showroom design, with 3D visualization of every zone from the pylon to the service drive

Car dealership design, or automotive dealership design, is the concept, layout, materials, lighting and brand image of a showroom, decided before the builder prices it. We design the dealership or follow your architect’s plans, build it once in 3D, and render every view the project needs: the facade and the pylon for the brand and the city, the showroom floor for the bank, and the opening visuals for your marketing team.

  • Render of a car showroom interior with oak sales desks, pale chairs and white cars under an exposed duct ceiling

Dealership concept and showroom interior design

No design yet? Bring the plot or the empty building, the brand’s image guidelines and a few showrooms you like. We propose the car showroom design and the dealership interior design, materials, lighting and the vehicle display, and show them in 3D before anyone draws construction plans.
  • 3D floor plan of a car dealership with the showroom floor, reception, customer lounge, sales offices, service bays and customer parking

Showroom layout and 3D floor plans

Dealership layout on your plot: how many cars the showroom holds, the customer path from the door to the delivery bay, sales desks, offices, the service drive and parking, shown as a 3D floor plan from above and then at eye level.
  • Render of a covered dealership entrance drive with a glass facade, canopy lighting and a car at the handover point

Vehicle display, handover and delivery bays

Display bays, turntables, the new-car handover area and the covered delivery drive, lit and staged the way your customers will meet the car on the day they collect it.
  • Render of a car dealership customer lounge with sofas, an oak display unit and new cars on the showroom floor

Customer lounge, reception and coffee point

Reception, waiting area and customer lounge design for sales and service customers: seating, the coffee point, screens and the view to the cars, so the wait sells the brand instead of costing it.
  • Render of glass offices and a meeting room with a round table along a car showroom floor

Sales desks, offices and F&I rooms

Sales desks on the floor, glass offices, closing and F&I rooms planned around how your team sells, with the cars always in sight of the customer at the desk.
  • Exterior render of a new car dealership at dusk with a glazed showroom, a lit pylon at the entrance and cars in the parking lot

Facades, pylons and brand image programs

Dealership architecture, the facade, entrance portal, pylon and signage rendered to the car brand’s image program and brand standards or to your own brand, on the real site, so the manufacturer, the city and the landlord see the building before you apply.
  • Render of a dealership service center with two-post lifts, a car raised on one bay and a glazed customer reception

Service centers, body shops and car washes

Service drive and reception, workshop bays and auto repair shops, body and paint shops, tire and quick lube centers, EV charging and car wash design, so the after-sales side of the dealership is planned and approved with the showroom.
  • Rendering of a blue sports coupe in a virtual car showroom with a teal curved wall and a backlit white panel

Virtual showroom backgrounds for car photos

Rendered studio backgrounds for inventory photos, listings and dealer apps: one showroom seen from the front, side and three-quarter angles of a listing, so every car on your site sits in the same studio instead of on the lot.
  • CGI social media posts of a silver sports car shown on smartphone screens

    Grand opening and marketing visuals

The opening announcement, billboards and outdoor advertising, social media posts, ads and a promo film of the new showroom, all cut from the same 3D model, so your marketing team or agency starts the campaign before the doors open.

Which views you need depends on who has to say yes next.

The car brand wants its image program, the bank wants the business case, the city wants the facade, customers want a reason to visit. We start with the decision the images have to win, then render what that reader needs to see.

Cover of the guide on sizing an architectural rendering order

Free guide: you order 12 images, publish 4 and pay $3,700 for the rest

Look at the logos above: none of those teams orders architectural rendering by the dozen. They start from where the building will be seen and let the image count follow. In our composite of a typical order, twelve views were bought, four were published and $3,700 went on images nobody used. The guide gives you the priced order, the place-by-place sizing list and the short brief to send instead.

Who orders dealership design and renders

Who orders car dealership design and 3D renders, and what each team needs

Dealership design and renders are ordered by seven kinds of teams, and each reads the same building differently: a dealer principal sees the investment, a car brand sees its image program, a builder sees what to price. We scope the views to that reader, and one 3D model of the dealership serves all of them.

  • Render of a car showroom lounge with grey sofas facing a display wall and a new car on a polished floor

    Dealer principals and dealer groups

Car brands and their retail network teams

Need a showroom concept their dealers can follow. We render the brand image program on real dealer sites and in standard formats, from a flagship to a city studio.

Common dealership design problems

Car Dealership Design Challenges We Solve

  • 01 Happened to us

The brand has to approve the image program

Car brands review the facade, the pylon, the showroom and the materials against their dealer image program, and a set of flat elevations invites months of comments.

Our fixWe render the dealership to the brand’s standards on your real site, so the manufacturer reviews the building, not a drawing set.

  • 02 Happened to us

The money comes before the building

The bank, an investor or the car brand itself decides on a dealership from a business plan and a site plan, and nobody can picture the showroom from a spreadsheet.

Our fixWe design the concept and render the facade, the showroom floor and the delivery bay for the business plan, the lender and the brand application.

  • 03 Happened to us

The city and the neighbors see a big box and a sign

Planning boards and neighbors judge a dealership by its glass, its lighting, its pylon and its parking, and a plan does not answer their questions.

Our fixWe render the dealership on the street at day and at night, with the pylon, landscaping and parking, for the planning application and the public meeting.

  • 04 Happened to us

The layout is paid for every day the doors are open

Too few display bays, a reception that cannot see the door or a service drive that blocks the showroom cost sales for twenty years, and a 2D plan rarely shows it.

Our fixWe build the layout in 3D and walk it from the entrance to the handover bay and the service drive, before the builder prices it.

  • 05 Happened to us

A remodel has to happen while the dealership sells

Image program updates, remodels and renovations are phased around a working showroom, and the team, the brand and the customers need to see the result before the dust starts.

Our fixWe model the existing building from your plans and photos and render the new look over it, phase by phase.

Car dealership design and visuals by project stage

What a dealership needs from design and renders changes with each step to the opening. Early views win the brand and the bank, later ones carry the planning application, guide the builder and fill the opening campaign, so we scope each set to the decision in front of you.

The 3D model built for the first stage is reused for the next, so each new set costs less than starting over.

What does car dealership design include?

Car dealership design covers the concept, layout, materials, lighting, brand image and site of a showroom and its service side, decided before the build. We design the dealership or follow your architect’s plans and show it in photoreal 3D, so the brand, the bank and the city approve it before anything is built.

We have a site and no architect yet. Can you design the dealership?

Yes. Send the site plan or photos of the building, the brand you represent and a few showrooms you like. We propose the concept, the layout and the materials, show them in 3D and refine them with you. About half of our projects start without a finished design.

Are you an architect or a rendering studio?

We are a design and 3D visualization studio. We design the concept, the showroom interior and the look of the building and render them. We do not produce construction drawings, structural or MEP design or permit sets; your architect or design-build contractor does that from the approved design, and we work alongside them and hand over the model and views.

Can you render our dealership to the car brand’s image program?

Yes. Send the brand’s image program manual or design guidelines and we build the facade, the portal, the pylon, the showroom finishes and the furniture to it, on your real site. Formal approval stays with the manufacturer, and we revise the views until their reviewers have what they need.

Can we use the renders in a business plan, for the bank or in a dealer application?

Yes, that is one of the most common uses. The facade, the showroom floor and the handover bay show the lender, an investor or the car brand what they are backing. We deliver them in the sizes your documents and presentations need.

Will the renders help with planning approval and the sign permit?

Planning boards and neighbors want to see the building on the street, the lighting at night, the pylon and the parking. We render those views from your drawings for the application and the public meeting. The technical submission comes from your architect.

Can you design the showroom layout and a 3D floor plan?

Yes. We plan the display bays, the customer path, the sales desks, the offices, the handover area and the service drive on your plot, and show it as a 3D floor plan from above and then at eye level. See our 3D floor plan rendering service for formats.

Do you design service centers, body shops and car washes?

Yes. We design and render service drives and reception areas, workshop bays, body and paint shops, tire and quick lube centers, EV charging and car washes, on their own or as part of a dealership. For fuel stations and other industrial buildings, see industrial building rendering.

Can you redesign an existing dealership before a remodel or renovation?

Yes. For an image program update or a remodel we model the existing building from your plans and photos and render the new look over it, phase by phase, so the brand, your team and your customers see the result before the work starts.

Do you work for motorcycle, boat, RV and equipment dealers?

Yes. The process is the same for motorcycle, powersports, boat, RV, truck and tractor dealerships: concept, layout, facade and opening visuals from one 3D model. We also render the products themselves, as in our boat rendering case.

Can you render the cars too, or build a car configurator?

Yes. We render cars, interiors and launch campaigns in CGI on our car rendering services page, and the same models can power a 3D configurator for your website.

Can you create virtual showroom backgrounds for our car photos or app?

Yes. We design studio backgrounds and render each one from the angles your photos are taken from, so the floor, the horizon and the shadows match the car. See our virtual car showroom backgrounds for a dealer photo app: four studios, five listing angles each.

Can you make a virtual tour of the new showroom?

Yes. From the same model we produce a 360° tour or a walkthrough film of the showroom for your website and the opening. Our guide to the virtual showroom explains the formats.

Can you create the marketing content for the grand opening?

Yes. From the same 3D model we produce the opening announcement, billboards, social media posts, Reels and stories, ad creatives and a promo film of the showroom. Your marketing team or agency runs the campaign, and we deliver in the formats they ask for.

Do you design stores and showrooms for other brands?

Yes. Fashion stores, furniture and lighting showrooms and pop-ups are on our retail store design page. This page is about car dealerships and the service side around them.

How long does a dealership design project take?

It depends on whether we design the dealership or follow your architect’s plans, and on the number of views and films. We agree the schedule with you at the start and plan the sets around the brand review, planning and opening dates.

How much does car dealership design and rendering cost?

It depends on the size of the dealership, whether we design the concept, the number of views and whether a film is included. We quote each project after seeing the site plan or drawings, so send them and you get a fixed quote.
