Bathroom Brassware Renders for Cavari's Online Finish Selector

Cavari, a UK bathroom brand that sells online, needed every accessory on its new website shown in every finish. We modelled 13 products in 3D and rendered 181 matching images in six finishes, so a shopper can switch the finish on a product page and see the same product in the same light.

Client & Market Context

A UK Bathroom Brand Relaunching Its Online Store

Cavari is a UK direct-to-consumer bathroom brand. It sells baths, basins, vanity units, towel rails and brassware online, and most of its accessories come in a choice of metal finishes.

Why AI Could Not Produce the Finish Variants

The brand first tried to create the images with AI. Single pictures looked good, but AI could not keep the same product, the same proportions and the same angle across five or six finishes and several views, and that consistency is exactly what a product page selector needs.

Switch the Finish Like a Shopper on Cavari's Store

These are the real renders from this project in a render-based configurator: pick a product, then a finish and a view, and only the metal changes. That is the consistency the brand's finish selector needed and AI could not give.

Cover of the guide on pricing a product launch as a photo shoot or as product CGI

Free guide: a 33-asset launch cost $27,670 shot and $11,830 from one model

The images above are one part of what a product needs to go on sale. A full launch runs to thirty-odd assets: packshots for every retailer, lifestyle, texture close-ups, a 360 spin and a short film. We priced 33 of them both ways, $27,670 through a photo shoot and $11,830 as product CGI from one model. The guide gives you the side-by-side, what to build once and the brief to send.

Results & Business Impact

  • 181

Renders delivered as square 2000 px images ready for the product pages

  • 13

Products: accessories, basin and bath wastes and a bottle trap, each built as a 3D model

  • 6

Finishes: Brushed Gold, Antique Brass, Brushed Stainless, Gunmetal Black, Satin Bronze and Aged Gold

  • 1

Set of camera, light and stone wall shared by every finish, so only the metal changes

For a product sold in several finishes, the value of the images is in their consistency. AI can create one attractive picture, but a finish selector needs the same product in the same light every time, and only a 3D model rendered from fixed cameras guarantees that.

What are configurator renders?
Configurator renders are images of one product in every option a shopper can choose, such as finish, colour or size, made from a 3D model with the same camera and light. Swapping them on a product page shows the chosen option without the picture jumping.
Why not use AI to change the finish of a product?
AI can produce one convincing image, but it does not keep the product, its proportions and the angle identical across many variants. In this project the brand tried AI first; a finish selector needed exact consistency, so we rendered every finish from 3D models in 3ds Max.
How many renders does a finish selector need?
Multiply products by finishes by views. Here 13 products in five or six finishes, with up to four views each plus in-place shots, came to 181 renders. Because every view uses a fixed camera, adding a new finish later means rendering the same views again.
Can you render bathroom brassware and accessories?
Yes. We render taps, wastes, traps, towel rails, holders, hooks and shelves from CAD files, drawings or existing product images, in any metal finish, as studio shots or installed in a basin, a bath or on a bathroom wall.
Do you also build the configurator itself?
We can. In this project the brand's own website runs the finish selector and we supplied the renders. We also build turnkey product configurators, real-time 3D or render-based, or deliver only the models and variant images for your developer.
Do you work with bathroom brands in the UK?
Yes. Cavari is a UK brand, and we work with bathroom and brassware brands fully remotely: product files, references and feedback come online, and the finished images are delivered in the sizes and formats your online store and marketplaces need.
