Client & Market Context
Perfect Campervan Interior Design for a Perfect Client
VANCRAFT is a premier converter that specializes in transforming Mercedes Sprinter vans into luxury camper vehicles. The company targets American outdoor enthusiasts who want to explore remote landscapes without sacrificing comfort or style. This project focused on launching a new line of compact vans featuring campervan interior design and sustainable materials. But in a market where buyers rely on imagination rather than physical inspection, traditional photography could not adequately showcase the campervan exterior’ functional elegance.
Business Challenge
Furniture Renders Navigating the Challenges Ahead
Customers in the luxury campervan segment face a fundamental problem: how to comfortably accommodate sleeping, cooking, storage, and living in a compact 5- to 6-square-meter space while maintaining aesthetic appeal.
Standard product photography and showroom visits have several limitations. They cannot demonstrate transforming furniture or hidden storage. Physical prototypes are costly and time-consuming, and they fail to show spatial relationships in tight layouts. Additional drawbacks include limited viewing angles and lighting conditions. These limitations prevent potential buyers from visualizing campervan interior ideas for daily life in the van. This results in longer decision cycles and lower conversion rates.
The challenge: create visualizations that make a compact van feel spacious, functional, and desirable.

Innovative Strategies That Stand Out
Key Visual Decisions
Capturing the Essence of the Brand
Top-Down Layout as Functional Storytelling
We created an architectural floor plan to illustrate campervan designs interiors and spatial efficiency at a glance. This overhead view shows the logical flow from the driver’s cabin to the bedroom and illustrates how six square meters can fit a full living space. The plan shows zone separation without walls, an important consideration for buyers evaluating campervan interior design.
Exterior Shots Grounding Premium
Close-ups of the Mercedes wheel, two-tone paint scheme, and campervan exterior designs make it clear that this is a luxury conversion built on a premium platform and not a budget camper. These campervan exterior details are important to buyers comparing different converters.
Material Authenticity Over Perfection
First, we photographed the real wood samples, fabric swatches, and composite materials used by VanCraft. Then, we replicated them in CGI with sub-millimeter accuracy. The visible wood grain on countertops, textured ceiling fabric, and soft-touch cabinet surfaces demonstrate the high level of craftsmanship that justifies the premium price.
Interior Animation Revealing Functionality
Since the van features transforming furniture and hidden storage, we created animated sequences showing cabinet doors opening, compartments revealing themselves, and surfaces transforming. These dynamic presentations eliminated the need for physical demonstrations, enabling buyers to explore campervan interior ideas and storage remotely.
Production Process
Building a Narrative Through Imagery
-
Visual Concept & Art Direction
Our visual narrative centered on sophisticated adventure, portraying the van as perfect for exploring the wilderness and glamping. Instead of dramatic architectural shots, we used human-scale camera angles to show what life in the van would actually be like.
-
CGI Production
We scaled down the entire Mercedes Sprinter platform. Using VanCraft samples, we created materials such as wood, fabrics, and composites. We designed modular furniture for the animation sequences. Using Corona Renderer, we rendered physically accurate light transport. The final product included twelve static images and three animation sequences featuring furniture transformations, a 360° interior tour, and a day-to-night lighting transition.
-
Iteration & Refinement
Three review cycles were completed with the design team at VANCRAFT. We eliminated 30% of the initial renders that were too technical and refined the rest to achieve a better balance of functional clarity and emotional appeal.
